We can all come together in our diversity , in fact I believe the bible teaches us to .
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (NKJV) I believe we should celebrate our diversity , as group does at the Appalachian University
http://diversity.appstate.edu/celebration/why/ We are all humans and in Gods perspective all connected. From the beginning we was all meant to live together.
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. (NIV)
In many scriptures in the bible God called us together :
“Also the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, To minister to Him, and to love the name of the LORD, To be His servants, every one who keeps from profaning the sabbath and holds fast My covenant; Even those I will bring to My holy mountain And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.” The Lord GOD, who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares, “Yet others I will gather to them, to those already gathered.” (NASB)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (NIV) We are called to believe in God and come together in our diversity not talk about our differences in such a way we are trying to change others. Our common ground is we are humans , created in the image of God.
My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Thank you for stopping by ; Pray that we will all come together in the love of Christ.
